Carpenters

Carpenter ants... No, this is not a super close-up, these fuckers are just HUGE. I got my lens right in their nest, I was feeling bold and I was wearing sandals! Luckily, none bit me. A couple bit my camera lens though.

You do not want to get stung by one of these guys though. The only way I can describe it, is it's like being stabbed repeatedly with a red-hot nail.
